Rivet (Endless) or Clip? |
What Chain Joiners?A rivet style-connecting link is the most highly recommended, the same as an endless chain, it has no weak point. The rivet link, once joined is permanent, strong and reliable.
Compared to the clip style-connecting link the rivet is harder to connect, requiring penning of the pins, which can often be avoided in favour of a clip. The simplicity of using a clip to hold the chains connecting link together is popular among the off road market. This is primarily due to the ease of joining, and easy maintenance as it can be removed and replaced in minutes. Of course, the problem with a clip is that it can come loose, whether through vibration, wear or taking a hit from debris when you are on the go. There are a couple of steps you can take to prevent this. First, use silicone to hold the clip on - this can help reduce vibration for a stronger result.
