Sprocket Manufacturing Process

Chain Gang sprockets are produced only from high carbon steel, selected for its long life wear capabilities; however the steel is so tough mass production cutting methods simply fail.Chain Gang sprockets are produced only from high carbon steel, selected for its long life wear capabilities; however the steel is so tough mass production cutting methods simply fail.

Australian made Chain Gang sprockets are cut using a laser, which allows the use of tougher materials and provides a level of precision never seen before in the sprocket world.

Using a laser to cut the sprockets gives a tolerance of just 0.1 millimeter. At five times the accuracy of the industry standard, this is the beginning to what makes the Chain Gang sprocket so superior.

All Chain Gang sprockets are flame hardened to dramatically increase the level of hardness around each tooth. While this process is time consuming, it is the key to the performance, adding valuable mileage to the already perfect tooth.

In today’s market, weight can be important. The Chain Gang "Generation 3" sprockets are light weight, long life rear sprockets available for both road and trail bike alike.

Using the same laser that cuts the teeth, all excess weight is removed from the body of the sprocket leaving a ridged, high strength steel sprocket, lighter than an original and built to out perform the competition. All sprockets are then customized with two-part coating in a wide range of colours, to meet your needs.

Chain Gang Sprockets are finished with a two-part industrial coating.

This coating is very durable and will not wear off, but paint thinners and harsh solvents should be avoided.

The colour can be chosen at time of order, your colour choices are Red, Blue, Orange and Black.

Each sprocket is hand made.
